I would use two separate accounts, one for business and one for personal. Plus are you saving the email on your Mac or within GMAIL itself?

You can get the free application TinkerTool and use that to stop .DSStore writing on external/email files. Plus in email using Mail go to compose an email (but don't write in just yet) and then click in the compose attachment symbol and put a check mark in 'Always send Windows Friendly Attachments' (this is in 10.8.x). Plus if you want to use that NAS box for Time Machine then follow the steps in the blog post Configuring OS X Mountain lion Time Machine to work with CIFS (smb) Share. Lastly did you use /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility on the drive to make sure it doesn't have...

Thanks, Satcomer. I appreciate it. This is almost what I have done (my accounts were set up before 10.7 was introduced, so I have had to retroactively assign the Gmail folders as described in the article to make them available in the same way across all my devices). My specific question, however, was what will happen to my existing sent business mails on my MBP if I carry over the manual assignment of my sent items folder (as outlined in the article you quoted)? They are all resident in the sent items folder created when I set up my account from within Mail.app (the option to set up an...

The drive is RAID 1. I have been using AFP, since I thought since it supported it that I should do it the "Apple way". However I just started using SMB and it seems faster - though slow to connect initially. Should that be my experience? Also if I use SMB will I not write all these MACOSX folders and DSSTORE files that I otherwise seem to create? Doesn't bother me but annoying to our PC users. Thanks!

You'll need to convert the .olm files used by Outlook 2011 to .pst (used by Outlook 2010) Emailchemy is good software, often mentioned on this site. http://www.weirdkid.com/products/emailchemy/ Or, search for another olm to pst conversion tool. There's other options, such as changing your email to Imap. Here's a few other links - http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=convert+olm+to+pst&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

So now I want to move/transfer all this data to windows pc having outlook 2010. I am sure there must be some way out, simple and fast. Thank you

You can either use an IMAP or Exchange e-mail account: All e-mails in these accounts will show up automatically on the Windows side (and with Exchange, in addition to e-mails, you'll get contact and events as well). Other than that, you'll need to export to an .olm archive and use a third party tool to convert the .olm to a .pst the Windows version of Outlook can use.

Here is a strong beer for your speed camera issues. I here speed camera issues in Maryland (In Virginia we call The People's Republic of Maryland) and they have speed cameras between DC & Baltimore. Plus at one time Maryland wanted to ban people from smoking in their own house. An uproar from all TV& Radio Stations put a stop to that. Plus in the States most of these cameras are run by private companies. The fines my friend got were so low it would cost them more if they went to court to fight it. It seems like a racket most of the time. I had a coworker get a ticket for 1 mile...

Hello to all, I've got a Gmail IMAP account that I use on both my MBP and my iPhone / iPad. I've noticed, however, that messages I sent from my iPhone / iPad don't show up in the sent items on my MBP and vice versa. After reading a few articles, I think I fixed the problem by expanding the folder tree for the account on my MBP and highlighting the sent items folder for that account down at the bottom left of the screen, then clicking on Mailbox > Use this mailbox for... > Sent. Seems like that did the job.

@ Katchdun4115 You didn't say if you have a Mac - or a PC running Windows (or something else) I like to use ipod.itunes on a Mac. http://www.crispsofties.com/iPod.iTunes.html There's other solutions, and searching for what you want "copy songs from iPhone to computer" will give you plenty of other possibilities. Another link to the Lifehacker web site - http://lifehacker.com/5869827/how-to-copy-music-from-your-iphone-ipad-or-ipod-touch-to-your-computer-for-free. If you use Windows, that site suggests "Sharepod" : http://www.getsharepod.com/ I don't use Windows for music, so have...

Read the article How to transfer from Your iPhone to a new Mac. The article points to some programs. If you search carefully you can find a free sync back program somewhere, like DeTune.

Does the Console give you any cause for the crash? Look in the system.log (that's listed by time and date.) While that's open, try to launch Safari, and see what is reported in that log. or in Safari crash log.

Create the playlist, and then when the iPhone 4 is connected make sure you click on the iPhone under the left categories. Then click the Music tab, and then select which playlists you want synced. Then you should be good to go after you sync that bear.

If you want transfer songs from one iPhone to another iPhone, you can do it with iTunes Backup Manager export/import feature. Actually you can transfer songs from iPhone to iPhone directly. - Connect two Devices to PC. - Choose the category list of one device that you need to export files. - Check the files that need to export in the Content Panel and click "Transfer file(s) from device to device" button. - All the checked files from one device can be transferred to the other one.

Then, it's not your application (Safari), but some settings files have corrupted. Quit Safari Go into your user folder, then the Library. Find the Safari folder. Delete History.plist and HistoryIndex.sk Delete the LocalStorage folder. Go back to your Library folder. Open the Caches folder, and delete the com.apple.Safari folder. Go back out to your Library folder, and open the Preferences folder. Find and Delete: com.apple.Safari.plist
