      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I have upgraded to yosemite.  Now I cannot connect to a shared drive on server 2008 using the smb://x.x.x.x protocol as I could before.  Windows techs are stumped and no help.<br />
If I try to login, I am denied access to the domain, after 2 attempts.  The mac is not on the domain, just accessing the shared drive.<br />
I have another desktop setup the same and it can connect.  Makes absolutely no senses.  It is like a part of the driver has been missed in setup.<br />
Anyone else having problems sharing from...<br />

I would like to upgrade her to Mavericks and have already prepared a thumb drive with <a href="http://diskmakerx.com" target="_blank" class="externalLink" rel="nofollow">DiskMaker X</a>.  As part of the process, I would like to create a recovery partition to use in emergencies going forward.  My tentative process is<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Using OmniDisksweeper I can see that I have used 390gb of 650gb on my MacBookPro harddrive (from 2009). I have also dragged a lot of my video files, archived raw and created movies, to an external that has used 27o gb.<br />

I can basically afford 8gb ram and 250gb SSD or more HD space than SSD.<br />
I understand SSD is a better way to go... re: nothing spinning.<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Hi!  I&#039;ve got to upgrade to white, Intel-based iMacs from Snow Leopard to Mavericks.   Now that Yosemite is now out, my question is:  will I be able to upgrade to Mavericks instead of Yosemite?  The reason for upgrading to Mavericks is some dental practice software being used hasn&#039;t be certified to run on Yosemite yet but it has been certified to run on Mavericks.<br />

So, if it would be possible to upgrade from Snow Leopard to Mavericks, how would I go about doing so?<br />

When I got home, I connected it to my iMac via iPhoto, copied all my new photos and deleted them from the iPad. My upgrade to Yosemite went fine. All application and drivers work as before. But I notice that when I do a cold boot, there is a progress bar that shows up and it takes about 90 seconds to complete and get to the login prompt.  I did not accurately time my boot up before Yosemite, so I have no basis for complaining. However, the progress bar worries me, and I know the boot time takes longer now.<br />

Got a bit of a shock whilst syncing my iPhone music, to see that suddenly the space available on my phone has gone from 10+ gigs to 3 gigs.  Upon closer examination, I now see a bunch of playlists that I had not previously selected, present and obviously sucking up the space.<br />
When I select the &quot;Music&quot; tab, all that I see now is a message telling me that iTunes Match is on... and there are no longer any selection possibilities.<br />

What can I do to regain control of my iPhones music...<br />

I don&#039;t have my files on iTunes because (a) the computer that contained them was stolen last month and (b) the hard drive backup just died yesterday, just after I retrieved it from storage ... and the day after my iPod erased itself.<br />

The iPod has absolutely nothing on it, so it can&#039;t have accidentally synced with the new computer (which has a few mp3s on it).<br />
<br />
Reset does nothing; I don&#039;t want to restore yet, obviously. All iTunes software on iPod and iTunes...<br />
