| Depends on the adaptor. Not all of the adaptors made work with OS X and it can even come down to hardware revision of the card. Sometimes the producers will change the chipset in their wireless adaptors but not change the model number, they'll just switch it to be like v1.2 or something. You'll have to do specific research on your exact model.
