Sounds like the new RAM isn't quite compatible with your system. If the system runs fine without the new RAM installed and crashes with it installed, then you've already narrowed down the problem to the new RAM stick.

Either replace the RAM stick with a new one (return it as defective), or try putting the RAM stick in different slots. Also try the new RAM stick by itself -- perhaps it just doesn't like being in there with another, differently-branded RAM stick. Try different combinations of RAM sticks and see if you can find a working configuration.

Otherwise, I'd say return the new RAM stick for another one. What brand is the RAM, and where did you get it from?
