This question gets asked and answered a LOT. iPhoto has more editing functionality that most users will ever use. If you want more, I strongly recommend GraphicConverter, which Apple bundles with its professional computers. It is something of a cheap-skate's Photoshop even accepting Photoshop plug-ins. If you prefer an Adobe product, there is Photoshop Elements. However, PSE is not Universal Binary, but GC is. For opensource fans, Seashore is a MacOS X-native cutdown version of the GIMP. IMHO, it looks like dog vomit.
