What fryke was refering to is the fact that Mac OS X was not released by Apple until september 2000.

The Mac OS X Public Beta was an early, beta version of Apple Computer's Mac OS X operating system
released to the public on September 13, 2000

Mac OS X version 10.0, code named Cheetah, released on March 24, 2001 was the first official release of Apple Computer's Mac OS X operating system. Mac OS X 10.0 superseded the Mac OS X Public Beta and preceded Mac OS X v10.1.

If you were using a Mac back in 1995, you would have had to have been running OS 7, which was released On May 13, 1991. - you also would not have been runnning it on a mac mini

Max OS 8 was released July 26, 1997, shortly after Steve Jobs returned to the company.
