Safari 3.x: Focus on wrong history URL...?

With Safari 2.x, I could start typing "macosx.co…" in the location field, and it'd show me the history of URLs starting with "macosx.co", the URL most often used being the one selected.

With Safari 3.x, it's always the domain name without any path that's selected, i.e.: The first option, the one selected, is "http://macosx.com/" instead of "http://macosx.com/forums/search.php?do=getnew", which I use most often. This way I have to push the down-arrow key for most pages I'm visiting regularly. Don't tell me to use bookmarks, I don't want a way _around_ it, I already do (pushing the down-arrow key, obviously). I just wonder why Apple changed Safari's behaviour in this aspect and whether there's a way (a "defaults write" maybe?) to recover my beloved old way.
