Are you sure you downloaded the right files for your Mac? Make sure you download the PPC ones if you have a PowerPC Macintosh and the Intel ones if you have an Intel Macintosh. You can tell which processor your Macintosh uses by going to the Apple menu at the top left and selecting "About this Mac." Then a window will come up and will display what processor your Macintosh has.
