| Another question. Is this a laptop that you lug back and forth? Or are you talking about two different machines? If the former, did your work IT guys set up your email? If so, you should tell them what you're trying to do. It's a common problem and they may have an easy solution. (Of course the solution may be a slap on the wrist and orders to use company email only through company systems.)
Back to Qwest. For general email, most (?) ISPs make you authenticate with account name and password. They should have given you simple instructions, when your service started, for their SMTP servers and how to access them.
