Did you install it right and hook up the antennas to the right leads? Does OS X see the card (Click on the top left Apple symbol and choose "About This Mac". When the pop-up comes up choose "More Info" and this will launch System Profiler.)?
Also did you try putting in the old Airport trick of placing a $ symbol in front of the WEP password? One warning people can break WEP in less then three seconds so that is why WPA was made.
