If its an unprotected dvd, say one you edited from home movies and made in iDVD, then you can just copy the files to the HD then use toast to burn it as a DVD (UDF format I think).
If its a protected dvd then this will not work, and I would think discussing it would break the 'legal discussion only' rule.
