I'd say be happy with what you have. I purchased an iMac G5 (revision B) a few weeks before Apple came out with the last iMac G5 model that introduced the built-in iSight camera. Was I a bit irked, sure. But you know what? I still love my iMac G5 and I've accepted my purchase.
Now, were you to have bought this MacBook Pro a few days or a week before they updated it, Apple would have gladly updated you to the newer model. However, too much time has passed at this point and you wouldn't be able to do that. With that said, I'm sure you'll get plenty of life out of your late 2008 MacBook Pro. Enjoy what you have now, and don't succumb to release envy.
