To say this a bit more gently... Hotmail is Microsoft, and will likely only be "guaranteed" to work on the latest flavor of Windows AND the latest flavor of Internet Explorer at any time. There are many other free web-based email addresses out there, I would recommend transitioning to one of them. For instance,
