| Also, if you happen to own the PC versions of some particular games, then the Mac OS X update - freely downloadable - will allow you to play the game. This was true of Quake 1 and 2, and Unreal Tournament. You simply had to setup the game on a PC, and copy the entire game folder across to your Mac, then install the Mac OS X update patch for that game and Viola*!
