Unhappy Power Mac G5 front panel headphone jack
As far as I know when I plug the headphones in the front panel jack of my Power Mac G5, the speakers plugged in the back are supposed to go off. However this does not happen.

When I plug the headphones the sound is in both the speakers and the headphones. When plugging and unplugging there's a delay (less than a second) when sound is neither in the speakers nor in the headphones.

Is it a hardware problem or should I just set something up properly?

The Mac is just two days old.
