| try entering the least amount of info needed and let it search for particulars. i know i had some kind of problem when i gave it too much precise info in my network pref location settings. don't forget that verizon will not give you the real details of something that isn't their product (at least if they are anything like pachell) so once they want you to pay extra, not double up on a connection. I ended up calling SMC at a certain point and they had me rocking in less than 20 mins.
i also remember having to make a new location in network prefs. the internet configuration deal didn't place the info in the right place to use with a router. I created a location called 'router', chose show: built in ethernet and using tcp/ip and chose configure using DHCP and filled in pachell.net under search domains. (run on sentence, hope you followed)
and i always get a variation of that 192.xxxx as my dns so that is normal behind the router i think. |
