| Software Update hangs at 'checking for new software'
I did a clean install of Tiger, tried Software Update but all I get is the popup with 'checking for new software...' and a progress bar that is about 10% filled. I could watch this for hours, but I don't feel like.
Tried repairing permissions, installed 10.4.1 manually, seeked for messages in console.log or system.log, cleared (~/)Library/Cache and deleted Library/Perferencecs/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist, tried from another user account. |
