| I have a PC keyboard that I've been using with my Mac for quite some time. The problem is that the Command and Option keys are in the reverse position. I was able to correctly map the keys under System 9 with a simple ResEdit hack I found on the Web. However, I can't seem to find any information on how to go about it under OS X. Editing the KCHR resource of the Localized.rsrc file won't work because the modifier keys are not editable there. I suspect that one of the ".keymapping" files is what I need to edit, but I don't know how to go about it. Anyone have any helpful information? Thanks much. |

| i don't have the answer to your question but i noticed it was your first post, so i responded to say welcome to the site. "welcome to the site" you might also try doing a search (button at top of page) for pc keyboard or another term related to your problem. i know ther have been other threads related to problems with them. you are certainly ambitious in this project. I would just learn to use the keys backwards.

| Thanks for the welcome, Ed. I searched the site before posting my question, and all I could find were a couple other folks looking for info on how to program the keymapping files. It's probably not a difficult thing to remedy if one knows where to look and what to modify. I guess I'll keep digging...Regards, |
