Question iXMicro card under OSX

Anyone here uses iXMicro's video card with OSX?

My ATi Rage video card blew and I have to replace it....unfortunately I can't find any old ATi cards now .....all I see is iXMicro's and the price is so tempting.... $30 CDN for the 8MB VRAM 128bit version.

The card just need to hook to the second monitor. I don't need acceleration etc....

I have heard that iXMicro can cause problems with OSX...is it true?

It's supported...

The iXMicro card is supported in OS X. The reason is Apple used these cards in the beige G3s originally. I'm sure performance isn't anything to rave about, but it was listed by Apple as a supported video card under OS X (MOF - it was one of the first supported cards in OS X)

here...

http://www.apple.com/macosx/upgrade/requirements.html

While it doesn't specifically state or name the iXMicro card by name, that card was OEMed by Apple for the original beige G3 tower. I doubt OS X has any acceleration or optimization for it, but it will work.

If you want to keep with ATI, check out these cards available on eBay:
