multi-function printer ideas

I need a new printer for my house. I'd really like a printer/fax/scanner/copier like the lexmark x63 (no mac support yet but I suppose that can be dealt with. If not, I'll choose something else.)

Anyway, given that my house is all 802.11b I'm not really inclined to start attaching usb cables every time I want to print. What I need is a wireless print server. However, I'm running into tons of trouble here.

My firewall (smc baricade) has a print server in it but it has a parallel port, not a usb port. It seems like most printers are moving away from usb. Also, even if I got that working I don't see how I can get scanning (or whatever) to work over a print server like my baricade.

What I really need/want is a wireless usb "cable". That way I could get my apple and windows machines to print and scan. Does anybody have any ideas? Does anybody here use a multi-function printer? Do you access it wirelessly?

Thanks in advance,
Vanguard
