Reply With QuoteAll of you are bragging how you've seen one at a school or seen it in a store or whatever, but I'm probably the only one here who actually has one. That's right, two doors down in my Dad's room lye's a fully operational G3 all in one.
My mom worked at my school and she bought it through the school because it was cheaper. It used to be mine, but we bought an iMac. I shared it with my Mom and the G3 just lied around for a year or two. Then we got an iBook, we shared that too. Then we got a newer iMac and the old iMac went to my little brother my Dad got the All In One G3 went to my dad, my Mom got the iBook and I got the newer iMac.
Anyway, that's a little off the topic.But I can answer questions about it if you want.
Oh and by the way, the G3 All In One is HUGE!

I saw it once
Apple did a demo at my small high school once, and they brought an all-in-one G3 with them. It had this freaky curvy top with all these holes for ventilation, it lookes like it was taken from som weird sci-fi monster. The guys actually weren't directly from Apple, it was the ad company they used, with Apple shirts. The head guy would do a force-restart to restart even a non-frozen machine.
Still wanting a MacBook, but my free iMac helps soften the pain

Yeh, the all-in-one was too costly, too big and had *too many* features compared to the iMac
. Also, it wasn't marketed like the iMac. They didn't even sell it in norway... When the iMac was released, Apple had a full-page announcement in the local newspaper here. That has never happened before leo at code.coop

My department has one of those
I hate the all in onde design, but I think that this model was an academic thing only, that is why we did not see more of them around :-)

It didn't sell as well as the iMac... because it didn't have the revolutionary look that made a huge advertising campaign possible !
The iMac is a revolution in design ! Not only because of its color, but also because of the simplicity of its look. Even simpler than a TV set !My current machine is an iMac Core 2 Duo 2.16 GHz 24" and a MacBook Pro 13" with MacOS X 10.6. My oldest Apple was born in 1977.
