avi converter

I know i asked this a while back(ed) but what software is the best avi converter? I have a bunch of avi's i want to convert. I do have avi2mov but when it converts it to a .mov it still doesnt work? Thanks

uh.. avi2mov? That's a converter for microsoft encoded divx w/mp3 soundtrack. This only works for divx movies, if the file your trying to convert is not a divx movie, with mp3 soundtrack it won't work. If its just an ordinary avi file and you want to convert that.. Quicktime Pro does it via export or if you have more money, get Media Cleaner Pro.

However if it is a divx movie, it might have wma soundtrack - in which case you have no way in playing it using a mac, well you can view it - but no audio.
