There was a rumor that Apple was going to offer an upgrade to 17 inch screens for new iMacs.

My guess is that we might see this within this year.

Rumours are that Apple is reorganizing their whole display line, dropping the 22'' Cinema Display, adding a 19'' widescreen studio display. This sounds like the company maybe made new contracts with Samsung and maybe, the contracts are good enough to fit a 17 or 16'' TFT to the iMac...

I think it'd be interesting to see Apple go 3:2 & 16:9/16:10 entirely. If the 19" had the res of the old Cinema display (1600*1024), it'd be a great productivity display. Plus a 17" wide screen for the iMac (1280*854 like the Ti?) and a 13" 1152*768 for the iBook line. That'd be great. Although I'd keep the 12" for the iBook, it's a great value all-in-one package, I think.
