I remember problems going from 7.X to 8, and problems going from 8 to 9. Am I the only one that remembers software companies releasing updates to make sure their software ran under OS 9?

Clarisworks

Clarisworks was what earlier versions of Appleworks became. Then 2 years ago, give or take a year, Apple brought the Appleworks title back to Clarisworks. If I'm not mistaken, and I very well could be, Claris was originally a part of Apple then got spun off, but then reacquired by Apple sans FileMaker which then became it's own company. Does this make sense at all? Again, I could be wrong. Let me know if I am.

clarisworks is a word processor, spreadsheet, database, drawing, painting, commmunications all in one program..

It was appleworks, then clarisworks, by claris (an apple owned company). Then, in the last few yrs, apple renamed it appleworks... confusing huh?

its a decent program.... not too fancy, but does the job.... current version is REAL nice.... for osX.

yes there *were* some troubles with os 8 software in os 9 (and os 7 software in os 8), but we're talking about a person who uses os 8, and this person will perfectly be able to use os 9 software. it's the OTHER way round here.

for a browser in os 8, use iCab 68k. everything else will be too lame nowadays.
