    Talking Tivo and Rendevous

I may have missed this in all the threads as of late, but incase no one has pointed this out yet Tivo is adding Rendevous techonology into it's series2 units so you can do things like play iTunes music on your TV (or home theater system if you're like me). See: http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2003...endezvous.html

hmmm, this is good for rendezvous and Apple, but not good for me. I was never a big fan of Tivo, I use ReplayTV. Instead of being limited to 80 hrs which is the max that I've seen for Tivo, I have three ReplayTVs connected to my network with 640 hours of total recording time (1 320 hr, and 2 160hr). I can send programs back and forth between the three depending on where I want to watch them, my home theater room, my TV room, or my bedroom. Now I might have to get Tivo too.

It would be really awesome if you could stream video to/from your Mac a la X-Box Media Player. That would be the ultimate entertainment device.

80 hours is more than enough for the average tv watcher. 640 hours...wow.. you can record a month of tv.

I would like them to have a cheap model that is around 15-20 hours and $150-$200 cheaper. $400 for the players and then the monthly fee add up quickly. Not everyone needs to be able to record an entire season of every show that is out. But thats just me...

Go apple.. Im waiting for the release of it.

Rendezvous Networking is Automatic networking. No setup, just turn on and it auto-connects: http://www.apple.com/macosx/jaguar/rendezvous.html
