Any juicy info on iSight fate?

Since the Apple Store lists the ship date for the iSight as "October" there seems to be a lot of scuttlebutt going about concerning its fate. The local Apple reseller here advised I wait to purchase one since he said that "Almost invariably, when Apple gets this back-ordered on an item, expect a change to the product." He said it could be anything from a new version to a price drop, but he said we WILL hear "something" in October. He advised me to wait before making a purchase. Other chat venues have even suggested that this might spell the end for this cool cam and Apple could be droppng it altogether. I've noticed that used iSights are selling for a premium on e-bay now with a couple going for more than Apple charges new! Dumb bidders, or are they scarfing them up before they vanish? Of course, all we can do is speculate, but I hope the advice to "wait" was prudent before I'm stuck buying a dented one with a scratch on the lens on e-bay for $200 and consider myself lucky!

iSight was dropped in Europe/UK because of the RoHs regulations : http://www.rohs.gov.uk/

Maybe they'll be releasing a new model.

No, I think only UK because in Austria you can still by iSights (through the online store AND at local stores).
