yeah options are great. it means more competition and better products for us :P

but what i like bout apple is that it spares me from making many options. they just built the damn thing for u . u only get to choose for a few things. and thats why everythin works so well . COMPATIBILITY.

Right now, the ATI is based on newer technology. The 9700 Pro is the top of the line...right now. Nvidia's next-gen card was supposed to be out last fall, to compete directly with the 9700, but it is now scheduled for release in about a month or two.

Follow that link...it talks a little about it.

    Good luck....

I would guess you're a gamer...if not, maybe consider the next grade down for savings. I have the GeForce4MX w/64 meg of ram....Now I'm not a gamer, but that card is good enough for me by a mile.

    Just a thought

well if it was the old days of ATI, i would say go with nvidia because of the better drivers, but ATI has fixed a lot of those problems. They are making a comeback push...especially with the way the NV30 (GeForce FX) came out...

    -Quicksilver 2001- superdrive
    -Name: Factory / Greystroke
    -new Western Digital 120Gb 7200rpm 8mb buffer
    -867mhz
    -1024 Mb
    -Mac OS 10.3.4 Panther
-17" Sony Trinitron (which crapped out on me )
