| I too think threesixty has a point: If M$ is capable through VPC to let XP run next to natively, i.e. Classic-like, less companies will feel inclined to port their software or develop new products for the Mac OS. I don't say this will happen, but it could happen. It all depends on what M$' stategy is.

| All the articles say that the motivation behind this is to get at the server virtualization technology that *NIX has and is severely lacking in MS's server offerings. This same technology would let stubborn NT 4 users upgrade/consolidate to bigger iron while keeping their NT 4 installations intect (of course, they would most likely have to install the newest server from MS, so microsoft now gets multiple licenses from a single box. It seems connectix is getting rid fo all their software (one of the articles mentioned that they might shutdown the company). All they have left are two outdated products (DoubleTalk and RAM Doubler). |
