Booting with the T-key?

When you hold down the T-key when booting, you'll boot your Mac as an external HD on Firewire or SCSI. This we all know

What I was wondering, why the letter "T"? From "booT"? No idea really

It's called Firewire "Targeted" Disk Mode. Hence, the "T".
