I saw that as well, but a while back. I think they were seeing traces of it back in October when it showed up on people's internet browsing stats.
The things i've seen appear to be pretty credible and it would make sense.

Well... It's been pretty clear that Apple would be working on another iPhone the _day_ the iPhone 3G was released. It's not like they ever go "This is the final product."
