We are all sick and our prognosis from the time we are born is that we will die. It might be 20 years, or 90 years, but at some point, we will all die.
Steve is sick and he has been very fortunate to be able to remain in the capacity he has this whole time. But, just because he is sick, doesn't make him any less of a visionary or fruitful to Apple.
His days are numbered, just as our days are numbered. A day is coming that Apple will march forward without his input, but will march forward with clear orders and vision he has left for them.
