Captain Code will become famous soon enough
Omniweb 4.5 beta released

OmniWeb 4.5 public beta is released.

It uses Apple's webcore for HTML rendering, and it seems to be pretty much identical in page rendering speed(as it should be).

Window resizing seems to be a little bit faster than Safari.

Thank goodness! I was thinking of registering OmniWeb just for 4.5. I absolutely LOVE OmniWeb's customization, and i've missed it dearly with Safari.

4.5, here I come!

Pre-Safari it was Mozilla/Chimera/OmniWeb for me with OmniWeb and Chimera leading my MacInternet life...

This release of OmniWeb is a long wait miracle for me

Not as fast as Safari methinks...
No Tabs!!!
It seems to draw some pages somewhat better than Safari...
It has some rendering problems here and there...
The Text Form Editor rocks!
It is beta 1... Unfortunately!

Here is hoping that they will include Tabs in the final version

I used to use Omniweb a lot because it looked nice. And when I opened 4.5, I was surprised how quickly the splash page came up.
Sadly, Safari has gotten me addicted to tabs.

Me too!

And I'm afraid most of us, too!

This is a very cool release. I'll be buying this for sure (as soon as I know I can afford to blow 2 weeks food money. I'm living thrifty so I can get a new computer.)

Anyone know of a good place to get a summary of features in this? I keep finding stuff like the form editor and shortcuts that are totally awesome but I don't really feel like going through each and every release note to find that stuff.

According to OmniGroup, tabs will not be a feature of 4.5. This version's aim is to further improve what's already there, mainly, and - of course - to integrate WebCore and JavaScript Core well.

However: Tabs are on the list for the next big release.
