Question Is there a Macsbug equivalent in X ?

Is there an equivalent to Macsbug for Mac OS X. If there is, how can I activate it ?

LimeWire has to be the most frequently crashing application in Mac OS X (in fact, I should say that it crashes reliably ), and I would like to know why (and send a report to the authors...)

CrashReporter

There is the Crash Reporter, which doesn't offer all the options MacsBug does, but will put some information on crashing programs into a log file. See
CrashReporter Thread elsewhere here.

Unhappy Yes, but...

You wrote to add the line

CRASHREPORTER=-YES-

to the file "/etc/hostconfig". Unfortunately, this file is owned by root. I guess I could add it from the terminal (since I don't want to create a root account), but how ?
