It arrived. My new iMac.

Finally the iMac arrived in my shop today which I ordered a week ago!! *jumping happily* Yippie!!! It's the iMac 17 with 1.8 GHz. It really looks cool and stylish. But believe me, I had no idea it's gonna be THAT heavy... I really had trouble bringing the machine home. But I took a taxi.

Anyway, pictures:

The box with the iMac

iMac set up and running

It's really fast and nice, I'm really happy to have it now!!!

Congrats! I wonder if there is a huge speed bump compared to your powerbook?

Hope you will enjoy it as much as I do mine eventhough being the first batch that come out in switzerland, got it in september last year, I had to change the power supply in order to get rid of the crackling noise.

Other than that I can happily enjoy it's qualities even more so with airport express.

N'joy and congrats on your choice

Even though the iMac has less RAM than the PB in the moment, I can clearly see the improvement on speed already. OS X boots faster, applications come up faster. That might as well also be because of 64-bit but I'm not sure about that. Probably because of the speed. My PB "only" has 1.33 GHz while the iMac has 1.8 GHz. However, I will put in 1 GB RAM instead of two because I can't afford 2 GB in the moment... It will be another increase on speed nontheless.

//EDIT:
It came with iLife '04, AppleWorks 6, this Nanosaur game, Marble Blast and WorldBook 2004. Quite nice though.

Well I don't know exactly if it's iLife '04 or '05, it just said 'includes iLife' on the big box. So I assume it's '04 as this came with my PB as well. But I have to check that later when I'm back home.
