Lightbulb Audio VST plug-ins right into OS X

    You know what I hope?

That OS X audio will make it possible to snap VST plug-ins anywhere in each audio channel.

Like Quartz makes it possible to scale bitmaps anywhere in the graphical interface.

Imagine how easy it will be to make affordable recording software.

Steinberg is not going to do that. It would be really cool, but they want you to buy one of their Cubase programs.

VST is the core of CubaseVST. If someone were to write a shareware OS X MIDI software and Steinberg were to release their plug-in architechure, someone could pay a fraction the cost and get all of the functionality of Cubase.

    Nice dream though.
