Slow movement on games

My two games I have downloaded are now moving very slow,I downloaded Adobe reader 705 yesterday so I could download forms from IRS,which would not work with the old reader.Is this the problem and if so what do I do????? Helppppppppp!

Were the games running fine before you downloaded the other software?

Is adobe trying to do an automatic update maybe? It does that on my computer some times and takes forever to load up. Everything feels slugish until it does and I click cancel. That could be the problem.

check your dock to see if ANY thing else is running. If not i dunno

Look in /Applications/Utilities for a program called Activity Monitor.

If you have OS X 10.4, you can click Spotlight (magnifying glass in upper right corner) and search for it.

Run that, click the CPU column header and look for programs eating a lot of processor time.

You can also try modifying your startup stuff: go to system preferences -> System (category) -> Accounts -> Login items. Disable everything, unless it looks real important.
