Regarding the old Powermac G4s that came stock with the Ati Rage graphic card. What difference will it make to put a Quartz Extreme enabled card in such a machine?

I'm not talking about games or video editing or such, just average desktop use - web, Finder, music & video playback and general multitasking. How noticable is the difference when it comes to moving windows around, resizing, and overall responsiveness of the system? I am aware that some effects are simply not displayed on older cards in the latest releases like Tiger.

Anyone out there who can make a qualified guess? I have been offered a Mac compatible graphic card that will make the old Powermac take advantage of Quartz Extreme. Is it worth paying any money for this when I don't intend to game, just for ordinary use?

The difference is noticeable to the eye. You get all the eye candy that comes along with it. Also the better graphics card will help out in viewing videos.
