Help No sound in games!!!

help, there is no sound when am playing a game. It's weird itunes has sound, and so does quicktime but when i start playing the game there is no sound. I checked the preference in the game to see if the sound is on, and it is so it has nothing to do with in the game settings. I tried other games and they also have no sound. Any one got any ideas?

i searched in old forums and to fix this problem all you had to do is start garage band for some reason. thats some weird $hit.

This is a known issue (depends on the model Mac you have). The fix is pretty simple really, it involves fixing the sample rate for audio:
