Just noticed it has gone from the store, since yesterday's update (here in the UK anyway).
And the 20" seems to have taken a price drop of £150.

It's been gone for longer than that... I believe they axed it days after they released the Core Duo iMacs.

ohhh! I hope they bring back elvis! LOL! it would be nice to see a 23" or better yet a 30" iMac with front row and a movie download service linked to it. This would so replace my TV!

wow i didnt believe it at first, no more powerpc imac! i say good riddance, intel based software is coming out a lot quicker than i (us?) expected. I use Cocoa apps the most and they will be moved to Intel the fastest.

unfortunately, the most 'pro' of software is version ~7-9, meaning it's just re-builds upon rebuilds upon rebuilds of ancient coding. it's all carbon. none of it's in Xcode, it's going to take a lot to get something as complex as after effects or photoshop native cocoa.

After effects has been in need of a big upgrade for a looong time. Hopefully Adobe will use the Intel switch an opportunity to do so. I use After Effects all the time, it's one of those "need" apps that will stop me from going Intel until available.
RIP iMac G5. I've gone through a lot of computers - mac and pc - and my iMac G5 has been without doubt the best computer experience of anything I have used.
