I got the CE fonts to work Ok on my powerbook. I moved all CE fonts to InDesign font folder and it works perfect. however......

when I moved the indesign file and the fonts to my power mac, Indesign does not see the helvetica CE font. I can use all other CE fonts with no prob.

When I select text in Indesign it shows me the name 'Helvetica CE medium' in the character panel, but it does not recognize the special characters.

any idea why?

Font probably corrupted when you transferred it or the permissions have been changed. Find the font and do a get info to see if the file is locked or restricted.

If you have FontDoctor you might consider using it to fix the offending font.
