I have discovered that the latest nightly build (http://www.caminobrowser.org/download/releases/nightly/) of Camino will do spell checking. However the spell checking will not work on this site for some reason but it does work in the Apple Discussion boards (http://discussions.apple.com/index.jspa) and other Mac web sites.
The spell checking does have a small quark. After badly spelled word is underlined red you have to put the cursor in the word, then right click to get a spell suggestion. I know not up to speed but this is the cutting edge of Camino.
