View Full Version : Daylight Saving Crash

Saturday night I put my imac 266 (CRT version) to sleep and during the night I'm sure that its effort to compensate for a return to standard time caused it to power down. In any event, I can't get it to restart using every trick in the book (which is limited since there is no power to the keyboard). I'm about to tear it open to look for another reset button on the PMU or SMU, wherever they may be. I haven't been able to find a map of the insides, although I have added RAM and changed the battery in the past. Has anyone any suggestions? Thanks.

How long ago did you change the battery?

I changed the battery about a year ago.

Thanks. This reference is exactly what I needed. I gather from the trouble shooting and repair information that the PMU probably crashed when trying to reset daylight saving time and then drained the logic board battery. I'll check the voltages, reset the PMU if necessary and change out the battery if needed. Thanks again.
