View Full Version : Need to recover Finder scripts

Ever since restoring files from a boneheaded backup utility, many of my AppleScripts have become zero-length files. I'd like to recover the default Finder scripts in particular (for file renaming) without reinstalling the OS.

Mac-using friends have not enabled the AppleScript menu item and don't know what I'm talking about. The Mac Genius was stumped by this request and unwilling to copy from an in-store machine. I'm hoping someone here might be willing to post the default Finder scripts to the forum.

I believe you can restore the Applescripts folder using the great utility Pacifist -- it lets you "get at" the files stored inside installer packages and extract them.

Pacifist is easily found with a Google search.
