Restoration error 1016

While trying to upgrade the iphone OS, the phone is now in recovery mode. When i connect the phone with itunes, it goes for restoration. The software restoration is completed but firmware restoration is errored out whil itunes shows an error 1016 for which i cuud not find any clue.
My phone is sim free.
