recognizing my iphone

i recently uploaded itunes 9.0 and now my computer will not recognize my phone. Any ideas? My phone charger works so I don't think its the cable.

The USB cables are like this:

Red - 5v
Black - ground
Blue - Data+
White - Data-

So it could be possible that the Data wires inside the iPhone cable are damaged, leaving the red and blacks fine to still power the device.

Are you on a Mac or a PC?
