Hey.

I have a Sony Cybershot that worked perfectly with my 2009 Macbook Pro. I would attach the USB cable, turn on the camera, and the files would be loaded up in Iphoto.

However, the Macbook's motherboard died, and I bought a late 2010 Macbook Pro.

Now when I attempt to attach the USB cable and turn on the camera, nothing happens. The camera no longer loads up on my desktop or finder. I've tried restarting, opening in and out of iphoto, etc, but nothing seems to work. Image capture also does not recognize it.

Can anyone tell me what's going on and how I can fix it? Thanks.

Make sure in iPhoto you select in iPhoto's Preferences to open when connecting a camera. Plus read the apple knowledge documents Photo: Troubleshooting Camera Connections (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1315) & Mac 101: Connect Your Camera (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2498) and see if ether helps.

Plus see if /Applications/Image Capture sees the camera.

My Sony Cybershot did this after I installed an Apple OSX system upgrade. I found that Sony had issued some software upgrade. After I installed it, all was OK again.

Also in the Set-up menu on my Cybershot there are some alternative USB options.
