Good Morning,

I'm trying to burn a project from iMovie HD (5.02) to a DVD. I have done this numerous times in the past, most recently May 11th.

When I choose "Burn Project to disc", the program goes through the process of saving the project, the timeline, etc and then an error message pops up saying "No disc burning drive found."

I am using an iMac 9,1. Mac OS X 10.6.7

In the system profiler (Disc Burning)
it says the following;

HL-DT-ST DVDRW GA11N:

Firmware Revision: KA16
Interconnect: ATAPI
Burn Support: Yes (Apple Shipping Drive)
Cache: 2048 KB
Reads DVD: Yes
CD-Write: -R, -RW
DVD-Write: -R, -R DL, -RW, +R, +R DL, +RW
Write Strategies: CD-TAO, CD-SAO, CD-Raw, DVD-DAO
Media:
Type: CD-ROM
Blank: No
Erasable: No
Overwritable: No
Appendable: No

I have read through multiple forums on this site and others this morning and have not found an answer.

I ran a test using the OS X install disc this morning and no trouble was found.

I am able to play dvds, cds and have just burned a cd using itunes.

Software Updates lets me know that everything is all set there also.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Since the superdrive, like all other DVD-rw drives, use a separate laser to write then from reading. So try the typical CD/DVD laser cleaning routines using Reset Your PRAM (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379) and using compressed air (with the straw attached) blowing the air in at an angle to blow dust out.

Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately I have reset the PRAM and also used the compressed air with no luck.
