All,

I am currently using software version 4.3.1 on my iPhone 3GS and am trying to run the requested update for 4.3.3 via iTunes and am getting back 'this device isn't eligible for the requested build'.

My iPhone was jailbroken a long time ago using 'Green Poison' I believe? I also had the Cydia app store on my phone. I am guessing this is something to do with why it won't update, although I am sure I have updated it since the jailbreak..

Any help is much appreciated!

Restore the software.
The downside of jailbreaking... (and also the reason why my daily iPhone is still the oldest kind).

Restoring the software wasn't working, that was when I received the error message.

I managed to fix the issue by removing the entry in my etc/hosts file that was added when my device was jailbroken.

what exactly did you remove from the hosts file?
