I have a Sony Handycam (Mini DV tape model No. DCR-HC96E). I have recently bought a Mac Book Pro (OSX Lion). I also have a firewire cable with me. Please guide me w.r.t. the following:
a) How to import the video from my handycam to my mac without quality loss? Any specific drivers needed?
b) Which software should I use to do some basic editing?
c) How to render the video onto a DVD for playing on a mac/ PC/ DVD player, later?

Is this a serious post? If so, then:
a) Connect your Sony to your MacBook Pro via FireWire.
b) iMovie ships with every Mac.
c) iDVD no longer is bundled with Macs. Use Roxio Toast.
