What is the purpose of the netstat remote address:
" localhost.http syn_sent " ? Any help is always appreciated.

That means that a request has been sent to the remote machine, but no RST or ACK/SYN has been received yet.
This is typically caused by one of two things:
1) Something with your firewall or the remote host's firewall is preventing communication.
2) The remote host has gone down (i.e., is no longer connected to the network) and/or is not responding anymore.
